Hi

Inspired by Todd Trotter's Howitzer I have designed a MOC of the famous
German WW.II. 8,8 cm FLAK Gun.

I have also been influenced by Shaun Sullivans rail version of the same gun
and the classic 1/35 plastic kit by  Tamiya.

Among the design criteria you find: Stable construction to ensure field use
- means avoiding single stud connection between larger parts. The gun must
elevate without braking and be attached with friction to the mount. It
should be possible to quickly mount the gun on wheel bogies like the real gun.

There is a lot of useful small dark grey parts that I have used like the
small minifig gun, minifig binoculars, minifig sextant (not available yet in
LDRAW though). I have also used the steering wheel from part 3829 which can
be attached in axelholes by technic tubing (is it OK to cut this part in the
length you need?)

So far I only have LDRAW pictures to show
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=18511  but I have built the
gun in real Lego as well (promise all used parts do exist), and photos will
come in a few weeks.
