I hope I didn’t miss the deadline for the Space Wheels contest (I sent the
e-mail a little over 20 minutes ago).
Anyways, I don’t remember where I saw it, but the wheel design was actually
inspired by an image showing how the 8x8 radar dishes can be snapped onto the
six-spoked motorcycle wheels used for the
Tantive IV and RIS. It doesn’t quite work with the other similarly sized
three-spoked wheel, but
as long as you can keep them snugged up to the sides, the result still looks
pretty cool. I’m planning to display it this weekend with MichLUG at the Novi
Toy & Hobby Expo, along with about nine other Sam-Bot MOCs, a few of which I
have yet to post.
