Mini-fig scale P-51 Mustang Moc —Douglas R. Clark
I've finally finished my newest P-51 MOC. It is built at minifig scale of 1 stud = 1 foot. I tried really hard with this MOC to make it as accurate to scale as I could. In reality, the fuselage should only be 3 studs wide but it had to be at least 4 (...) (21 years ago, 7-Jan-04, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military, FTX) !

(...) Congratulations, Doug - this is an amazing MOC! The photos, before you click on the thumbnails, look so dead-on that I imagined it would *have* to be oversized. Yet when I clicked on them, I saw how perfectly sized and detailed it was! What a (...) (21 years ago, 7-Jan-04, to lugnet.build.military)

(...) snip Thank you for the complements. I have to admit that I drooled (as a lurker) quite a bit over your military MOCs over the last few years. Especially your p-38 and stuka. (...) I would not be offended in anyway if my ideas are "borrowed". (...) (21 years ago, 7-Jan-04, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: Mini-fig scale P-51 Mustang Moc —George Haberberger
(...) Doug, This looks great, you really managed to capture the essence of the Mustang. Thanks, George (21 years ago, 7-Jan-04, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: Mini-fig scale P-51 Mustang Moc —Chris Paton
Hi Douglas Brilliant Mustang! I really like the undercarriage wheels, very inventive. And at first glance the cannons in the wing and of course the cockpit really reveal some new ideas and new thinking. Thanks for the headstart on any future warbird (...)         Re: Mini-fig scale P-51 Mustang Moc —Gil Shaw
(...) A really amazing shape you've captured here...and an economical use of parts as well. Wonderful build. Cheers, -Gil (21 years ago, 8-Jan-04, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: Mini-fig scale P-51 Mustang Moc —Shaun Sullivan
(...) You know, that's an excellent point. Much like the Blacksmith's Shop being ideal for its colorful presentation, clean lines, and economic use of parts, this would be a great line for LEGO: WWII Warbirds, minifig scale! Doug's P-51 here would (...) (21 years ago, 8-Jan-04, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: Mini-fig scale P-51 Mustang Moc —Douglas R. Clark
(...) I don't know if I would really call this MOC "economical"; plates & tiles are used almost exclusively in its construction to achieve the level of detail & accuracy. When I take it apart (not until after its LDrawn) I will count the number of (...) (21 years ago, 9-Jan-04, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)
