  New Mech, Beast

(URL) here's a general purpose mech. That means a grunt's mech. Sort of like the jeep. It's meant to do it all, from construction duty to front line combat duty. Cheap to build, durable, very transportable, rugged. Beast actually got its name from (...) (23 years ago, 18-Mar-02, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) All right Mark!! Looks really good. I've always wnted to use those cockpit pieces for somthing, but they never looked good. Looks a bit like the Hoplite I made. Only the colorscheme! Really smooth build, I like legs ;) Keep it up! Ryan (URL) (23 years ago, 18-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) All right! I like the use of the sloped canopy and the minifig Legs as claws! Nicely done! The roll cage to holdthe canopy fits right in with the head. Inspiring, at best! Just my two brickz! <<_Matt Hein_>> Lugnet member No. 1112 (23 years ago, 18-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mech, Beast

(...) I thought the look was pretty good. The trick was getting a nice seal on the cocpit. What I like is the way you can pop the canopy without opening the cockpit. (...) Thanks muchily. (...) Dude!   Re: New Mech, Beast

Thanks Ryan! I've worked on the feet a bit, little more splayed out, so the feet look a bit more proportional. The cockpit was fun, like you say the challenging bit was getting it all to fit in. It's not completely sealed so to speak but looks good (...) (23 years ago, 20-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mech, Beast

(...) Thanks Matt! The Minifig legs as hands is a idea I've seen before. I really only saw it in the flesh until Mark Sandlin showed it to me. I'm not sure who first came up with the idea but I'd give em credit here if I knew. Roll cage sort of (...) (23 years ago, 20-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mech, Beast

(...) Dude that is @#%#ing great!!! I have been struggling with that windshield as well, that sucker is had to work with. You pulled it off nicely!   Re: New Mech, Beast

(...) Very cool! I like it's very industrial feel. Kind of reminds me a little of your truck squadron... Chris (23 years ago, 20-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mech, Beast

Thanks Chris! I've always liked the idea of mechs being big industrial things... You know, Beast is about the same size as the Truks and as the Sprite too. Maybe I should do a lego Mecha soccer team. (URL) by** (URL) cha think? Wanna play? I can see (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mech, Beast

Thanks Tony! (...) Thanks, Getting in just the right position was a bear. That's where I got the name *&%#$ Beast, shortened to Beast of course :) (...) You know, you should do it! If you need/want permission to take the idea and run with it, (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
