Measuring around 15 by 22 inches, here's my LEGO mosaic tribute to Piet
Mondrian (1872-1944).  I thought it appropriate to post today, as March 7th
was his birthday.

I call this the "Lazy Man's Mosaic" as it is very easy to build compared to
the many detailed mosaics posted on LUGNET.

This work is an original creation by me, clearly borrowing from the geometry
of countless Mondrian works.

This work hangs permanently on the wall of our upstairs family room, and
blends right in with the Scandinavian decor.

Note the minifig on top for scale.  The mosaic was built on top of a red
DUPLO baseplate, turned sidewise.

Among the coolest things about having a mosaic like this on your wall is
that you can change it any time you want!

If you want to see how easy it would be to build your own Mondrian mosaic,
check out this java applet that randomly creates Mondrian-like art.  All you
need are basic 2x4 bricks to become an instant artist.
