Hi All,
I finished LDrawing a model I built a couple of weeks ago - it's a German WWII
18-ton halftrack.
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=42181
Sadly, neither of these color schemes are feasible yet - the hangup is part
6005, the 1x3x2 arches - which does not yet appear in tan or dark grey. You
can find them in light grey or black, though, which might be sufficiently
WWII-esque. The version I have built is primarily tan, except for its red
fenders (courtesy of the Santa Fe).
Originally, I wanted to build a version sporting a nifty weapon - there was a
versin that had an 88mm gun mounted on the back bed (the sides were folded down
for firing). That version was only produced with an armored cab, though, and I
really liked the open cab version, so I figure I'll add a towed 88 soon enough.
Anyway, I'll be posting more renders this evening
(*grumblecorruptdiskgrumble*). It's a huge vehicle (the real thing, not the
LEGO model) - nearly as long as a Tiger, and comfortably seating a full
platoon.
Anyway, LMKWYT.

Did they use tank skid steering dragging the front wheels sideways or did they in fact turn the front wheels (like a normal truck) with a lot of friction in (...)
