Reminder: A condition of use of this service (see the Terms of Use) is
that you do not hide your real name from the community of users here.
However, some people prefer configurations which use aliases or
pseudonyms in their 'From:' lines or in their e-mail addresses, and
they sometimes forget to or decline to include their real names in the
content of their messages.
To address both issues simultaneously, a new feature was recently added
to this server which allows it to insert name information into the NNTP
header of articles posted, in case you forget to include your real
name. More precisely, your real-life name is inserted in the message
header like so:
X-Real-Life-Name: John Doe
^^^^^^^^
(your name here)
So, if your real-life name is known by the system (i.e., it recognizes
your posting address and knows your name), then your real-life name
will be added at the top of all messages you post here (in the article
header).
If you would rather that your real-life name not be added to the
messages you post, you should discontinue use of this service or
post using your real name instead of your alias, so that your alias
retains its anonymity elsewhere outside of this system.
