WANTED: Brick Vendors
BrickFest DC Aug 13-15, 2004 BrickFest
Website
Brick Bazaar at BrickFest 2004 is being planned bigger, better, and more
organized than previous years. Any registered BrickFest attendee is welcome to
bring some LEGO® items to sell or trade at the Brick Bazaar.
The designated location for Brick Bazaar is Room 329 on Friday and Saturday and
The Third Floor Lobby space on Sunday. Due to an outside group using room 329
on Sunday, all brick vendors must move their items to the corridor at the end of
the day Saturday. Room 317 will be available overnight to secure brick bazaar
items. BrickFest Floor Map
Pre-Registration is required. If you have LEGO items you wish to trade or sell,
please pre-register with the Brick Bazaar Coordinator, Email Kevin Salm, so that space and tables can be reserved for you. Those
brick vendors that do pre-register will be given the best tables and the best
space to set up. So far, six people have requested tables via the BrickFest
automated registration system.
The Brick Bazaar will not be totally free for brick vendors this year. The
BrickFest Organizing Committee has set up the following schedule: Pre-registered
Table Fee $ 10.00 Walk-up Table Fee $ 15.00
In addition to the table fee, a sellers fee equal to 3 Percent of sales over
$100 in sales is being requested. This cost is similar to online sites such as
BrickLink.com. The monies collected from Brick Bazaar will go help cover some
of the costs of running BrickFest.
Tables are five feet long. Multiple tables are available and tables may be
shared among more than one person. We also plan to have a few tables available
for absentee traders. So if you only have a few items to offer, simply mark
your items and leave contact info. Then go about other activities at BrickFest.
The coordinator and other brick vendors will watch over the absentee tables.
Fortunately, LEGO fans are an honest bunch.
In past years, the Brick Bazaar has been highly successful despite being loosely
organized. For 2004, the Brick Bazaar will be more structured. We want to
encourage anyone with any LEGO items to sell or trade to consider taking part in
the Brick Bazaar. Remember that you must pre-register to be guaranteed table
space in a good location and you must be a registered attendee of BrickFest.

To maximize your selling space, here are a few tips and suggestions:
Table cloths -- disposable plastic table cloths may be provided, if you have
your own please bring them. Table skirting -- we are working to provide this
for all brick vendors, but if you have your own please bring them. Table
covers -- for times when you will be away from your table, a table cover such as
a bed sheet or blanket is a good idea. Signage -- a well-made sign may get
you noticed faster. Vertical Displays -- if you have a way to display your
wares upwards, please bring it along. Bags for merchandise -- please provide
your own bags for items you sell or trade. The coordinator will have some on
hand, also. Plenty of small bills and coins to make change for your
customers. Please plan your selling space to be as neat and attractive as
possible.
Remember that on Sunday, BrickFest will be hosting an exhibition for the general
public. This means several hundred more people who may be interested in what
you have to sell or trade. Last year the brick vendors did a large portion of
their business during this time.
Questions may be directed to the Brick Bazaar Coordinator or posted as a reply
to this announcement. Table Sign-up will be handled manually offline by Kevin
Salm.
