Microsoft TechNet and forums.winamp.com:
The following is an advisory for those people running the following operating
systems:
Microsoft Windows NT® 4.0
Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Services Edition
Microsoft Windows 2000
Microsoft Windows XP
Microsoft Windows Server™ 2003
There are a few worms and trojans floating around the Internet that are designed
to attack an exploit in the RPC Interface provided with the operating systems
listed above. As long as your computer is connected to the Internet, you may
possibly be at risk.
As with any exploit, it is beneficial to all if you ensure that you are patched
against the problem that way you help to prevent the worm's out there from
spreading. As well as ensuring the security and integrity of the data stored on
your computer.
To that end, Microsoft have provided a fix for the above issue at the following
URL. Note that this fix is yet to appear on the windowsupdate website, so it is
important to install it even if you have your computer set to download the
latest patches from Microsoft automatically.
