The Ugliest Thing You'll Ever See Made Out of Transparent Lego —Sid Mark Dinsay
Howdy all... For those of you who know me from BrickLink and eBay purchases, you're aware of my quasi-obsession with transparent Lego parts. While I really prefer collecting bricks and plates in all trans-colors, I also procure parts like those (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.announce) !

Re: The Ugliest Thing You'll Ever See Made Out of Transparent Lego —Bruce Hietbrink
Yow! That thing would make a small star if it was really orbiting the planet, with light reflected and refracted in all sorts of ways. I guess they don't make clicky-hinges in trans colors? :) People who live in glass space stations REALLY shouldn't (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) ...my oh my, it sure is ugly. But the more you look at it, the more beautiful it becomes. Kinda creepy, actually. (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: The Ugliest Thing You'll Ever See Made Out of Transparent Lego —Ken Koleda
I agree it's kind of ugly, but ... if you had some lights in that it might actually look spectacular in a dark room. Although the light might need to be real bright. (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: The Ugliest Thing You'll Ever See Made Out of Transparent Lego —Sid Mark Dinsay
(...) I have a bunch of 1x2 light bricks... but they're not much on candlepower. I'll try something else and post it later. (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: The Ugliest Thing You'll Ever See Made Out of Transparent Lego —David Simmons
Sid, For a most dramatic effect (if you still have the model together) I would recommend getting a flourescent blacklight and blasting your wonderful creation with it. Blacklight makes trans-orange and trans-antifreeze glow quite brightly. I love (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: The Ugliest Thing You'll Ever See Made Out of Transparent Lego —Mark D. McKean
(...) "Ghastly" doesn't even begin to describe that. The shape is cool, but the colors...my God, the colors! The only thing that's missing is a wide selection of trans SPUDs...but are there that many trans SPUDs out there? You have acheived (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: The Ugliest Thing You'll Ever See Made Out of Transparent Lego —Adrian Drake
Oh, it's not that ugly. A little garish, sure, but any rainbow warrior will enact that response. It's pretty cool, actually. I really like the massive antenna arrays. Adrian (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: The Ugliest Thing You'll Ever See Made Out of Transparent Lego —Jeff Jardine
(...) Wow! It's beautiful, in a garish, ugly way. It could be the world's largest barley toy, or someplace Superman hangs out on weekends. Cool! Jeff J (22 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: The Ugliest Thing You'll Ever See Made Out of Transparent Lego —Jeff Jardine
(...) Heh - it seems to be one of those things that I assume everyone knows about, but is really a piece of regional culture. A barley toy is not a toy at all, but rather an almost inedible candy containing no barley. Here's a picture I found: (URL) (...) (22 years ago, 17-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)
