Guys,
For those of you who know, I work for the Mayor of New York City. On
Tuesdays, however, I am off--and, as it turns out, a bit lucky. I was
nowhere near ground zero when this cowardly attack happened, but many of my
friends were, many of them at City Hall. Thankfully, all my friends made it
out, but our hearts and prayers go out to those who did not survive, and
those who are working around the clock to help save those who did.
Driving to that horrific scene yesterday, we saw both sides of the West Side
Highway lined with people, handing out water to passing cops, clapping for
any vehicle flashing lights or sounding sirens, some even holding up signs
that said, "America's Heroes." This made me realize that however many times
these cowards strike, they will never, ever, defeat America--or what it
stands for. I join our LUGNET community, the country and the rest of the
world in prayer for the lives lost in this senseless tragedy.
God bless us all, and God bless America.

| (...) Sid, its good to hear you & yours are ok. I have heard from just about everyone I knew of in the lego community from the New York City area. I havent heard from Christopher Dean though, I am pretty sure he was employed by Deloitte & Touche (...) (23 years ago, 13-Sep-01, to lugnet.loc.us.ny)
