Below is a link to some pictures of my brother's Hollywood sign and film
clapboard MOCs.  He did bring them to BrickFest 2003 but wanted some comments or
suggestions, be they good or bad.  The clapboard is 4x34x26 studs of solid brick
throughout, while the Hollywood sign letters are simply one stud deep--kind of
weak, but adequate.  I came up with the original idea, while he took it to
fruition.

Thanks for any comments you might have,

Great creations! I like them a lot and don't know how I managed to miss them at
BrickFest.  The clapboard in particular is awesome.  That's just the kind of
creation that would come in handy for a brickmation video.  Throw in some foley
sounds and some overlay titling and it would make a great opening shot for a
video.

The Hollywood sign is pretty nifty too - good execution of an idea with a
minimal number of bricks.  The only thing that would have made it better would
have been to build a little hillside to perch it on.  It doesn't look quite
right with all the letters at the same level.

Thanks for sharing these pictures.

Greg

(...) I agree--I should attempt to make some sort of hill. What sort of color scheme do you think I should use: green, brown, light gray, and dark gray? Any other colors? Thanks for the comments. (21 years ago, 24-Aug-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture)
