I decided to finish one of my many half-built MOCs last week, and it actually happened. This ship was based off a Decemberists poster with 17th-century dirigibles on, and so I figured it needed a Decemberists name to go with.

PLMKWYT, I subsist solely on forum replies.

Not really digging the colors on the balloons. Red and Blue clash too much with each other, and with the dark colors of the airship itself. I’d suggest replacing one of the colors with white. Otherwise, it looks great. :)

Jeff

I can see what you’re saying, and I probably wouldn’t have chosen these colors were I just dreaming up an airship to build on my own, but this project came about through very particular circumstances: I was trying to build an airship with Fradel’s lego when I was staying over during Brickfest ‘05. The only time I had to build was between the hours of 1 am and 4 am, due to the nature of the thing. Furthermore, I was inspired by this poster, and I thought I could eke out a red and blue bramsphere with his parts. So that’s why the gondola is black, and the balloons are primary-colored. I agree that the colors could use some tweaking; maybe the gondola coule be brown, but that might not look as nice with the dark orange railings. I’d like to add more dark orange into the mix, as it plays so well with the red and blue IMHO, but I can’t find a good excuse.

Anyways, red + white = Pokémon. I’ve been thinking about doing a dirigible that’s white-and-light-bley-striped, though.
