In my eyes it would be not correct to do it right now: Our contest consists out
of 10 pictures and that's it. These 10 pictures have of course limited the
amount of details which can be presented. If we would bring out lots of
additional pictures this would be kind of unfair....

In fact the airport might be not that old (I have no exact information). But
the airport is definitely built in a style, that we call "Nazi-Barock" (and
which is no praise ...). So I guess the building has probably been built
between 1933 .. 1939.
But we wanted to avoid any misunderstandings about the Nazi time, so we decided
to put the story in the unsuspicious time of 1931.
(One early story board would have shown the life cycle of the Ju52 from its
beginning to its ending in the WWII in Russia.
That would have meant a red tail with the bad swastika symbol (which is in
Germany still forbidden to be displayed - except from very special exceptions).
We have in fact built it (and also the blue flags on the airport building in
red colour with white dot instead) and we have shown the pictures of that to a
few friends around. It seemed too complicated to make clear it was a great
airplane (and a nice Lego model), but in a very evil time. We have not been
able to develop a good story board which was able to solve this conflict.
In the end we decided to change to a 100% civil version and time. Some details
of Russia survived as Greenland instead... ;-)
