How about a magical newsgroup for polls.  Whenever a new poll is
created, it appears in the group lugnet.polls.  Anyone who tries to do
a followup will have their vote counted.  But the followups won't
appear in the newsgroup.  It could work like the posting confirmation
does, where you fill in the [ ] with an "x" and submit.

Or, subscribe to polls by e-mail, and reply to them as above.

The trouble is, I just don't visit the website www.lugnet.com all that
often, and might miss out on polls as a result.
