It is possible to post via the mailing list version -- there's a two-way
SMTP<=>NNTP gateway. However, this only works if you are subscribed for
instant delivery (i.e., not digests).

Replies to digest messages are disabled by design (digest replies mess up
threading, so it points you to the next best place -- web version -- where
threading is guaranteed to be correct).

Yup, just reconfigure yourself to receive your group for instant delivery;
then you can reply to messages. For example, click over to this page:
http://news.lugnet.com/news/mail/sub/?lugnet.db.inv
and turn off digests. :-)

p.s. lugnet.db.inv isn't really intended as a discussion group -- it's
really for posting inventories and followups commenting on the inventories
(pointing out mistakes, etc.). I guess the database group would be better
for full-on discussions.
