Folks, I need to apologize, we are preparing a new server for lugnet.com and somehow today's transfer of data seems to have spawned a number of news-to-mail forwards for you subscribers out there. I'm getting a bunch of old posts via email all at once. Stuff from at least the end of April, probably older. I know this has happned a couple of years ago and I got something like 300+ emails in a very short time. I assume it's not just me at this (...) Hello, I wonder whether anyone else is having this problem: My newsreader (Xananews 1.18.1.3) can only download one message body at a time from the Lugnet news server, i.e. if I try and have it download several messages, such as in a whole thread, (...) Well, as being vocal about each step seems to speed the process along, my paypal payment went through this morning. Now I'm just awaiting my member number, confirmation, and bump up to curator status. (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.admin.curators, lugnet.admin.nntp)

Could someone please correct the news-server setup page so that it no longer specifies port 119? This port has not been available for years: (URL) 26 Sep 2003 and even for those of us who were around back then, when doing a new news-server setup we (...)
