Certain groups get large threads...
Right now the thread display is all or nothing. When the thread gets over a
certain size (I think it is 100) you get this instead of the thread tree:

Wouldn't it be nice if when the thread got over a certain size you got a
"relative view" instead of nothing? Not sure this is a well formed idea or
not, but what I am thinking is showing sort of a pruned tree... nodes that
are no more than 5 links away or something (both up and down the tree)
Now, computationally this may be quite expensive to compute, I am not sure.
The algorithm for doing it may also be hard, I haven't thought about tree
walkers in a long time)
So consider it a pretty low priority wishlist item, but it may be fun to
work on and a good break from more drudgery-ish sorts of things.

Maybe one person thinks 50 posts in a threads is way too much and takes too much time to load? And (...) (23 years ago, 18-Jun-01, to lugnet.admin.general)
