Todd,
Just another little idea - it'd be nice, when posting using the web form, if
you're signed in it puts in your name & e-mail as defaults in the • appropriate
fields. Can this be done?

Yes, it can.  It's not very nice & easy to set up, but here's how you do it:
1. Sign in - http://www.lugnet.com/people/members/sign-in/
2. Fill out the new setup form - http://news.lugnet.com/news/post/setup/
This saves your info in a "virtual cookie" in your member record on the
server, rather than a dedicated cookie.
3. Now whenever you're signed in, that info will appear when posting.

I'll make it smoother in the future, but that's how you do it for now.
Basically, just be signed-in with your member-id before filling out the
news-posting setup form, and then it remembers the stuff right on the server.
Same with news-by-mail setup and the top-level newsgroup filter thingie.

Is that necessary?  I've never had to put my name & e-mail address in when
posting - it's always there already.  How did I manage to pull that off?

James
