This is something that seems to be implied in the phase II of LUGNET, but I'm
not certain if it is, and it seems to me that it would be a valuable resource.
I'm fairly new to the online Lego(r) community, and every time I hear about a
sale or an auction, the first thing I think is "who is this guy?" I don't know
most of the established auctioneers, and it seems to me that a database that
tracked who was selling, and what the response was to them, would be a
fantastic resource - heck, I'd _pay_ for something like that. Before I
participated in aucZILLA VIII, my first online auction, I dug through years of
RTL crap(1) to find information about reliability and lack-of-hoax. If there
were a sort of Better Business Bureau for online Lego(r) trading, I think
everyone would benefit.
Like I said, this seems to be something implied in the later phases of LUGnet,
but like any other human, I want, and I want now! ;)
Is this indeed something that is being considered for LUGnet implementation,
and if so, what can I do to facilitate it? My programming skills are rusty at
best, but I'm fully fluent in logic, design, and beaurocratese (contradictory
though that might seem).
Like I said, it's a service I would be willing to pay for. Since I don't think
you take bribes(2), I'm offering to pay in time.
1:Not to imply anything about RTL, but whenever you are looking for a specific
piece of information, digging through a general-catagory newsgroup is painful.
2:Besides, I need that money for Lego. And bills. <sigh>
