I'm torn on that one. It's really intended only for posting data, with
.admin.database being the place to hold discussions, but looking at the
.db.inv charter, it's not too crisp/clear about that. I think I've barked
at a couple people in the past for posting questions and stuff there, but
I'm starting to wonder if it's simply futile not to expect discussions to
[want to] arise there.

Well, sort of, but not really. On a first-approximation super-duper-stopgap
look at things, yes, it is. But the ng is really just there to be a
repository to collect the data for later integration into the real resource.
So just like the .cad.dat.models.sets group, where there'll be links from
the sets-DB to the DAT model in the ng, it doesn't hurt things if
discussions do take place in the .db.inv group. In other words, the ng is a
crude storage place (currently) for records that'll be pointed to by the
sets-DB and then later snarfed into something better with crossreference
links, etc.

Yes, there are about 1000 or so other inventories contributed by Tim Vattima
and Margo Kubiak, etc., at <http://www.lugnet.com/inv/> but not all of those
are browseable and they aren't hooked into anything finalized either (just a
quick prototype there).
