SOME NNTP/SMTP users, those who are not already following the group
it belongs in. The rest of them will see new posts just fine.

I'd expect it to be the common case, as most threads moved are moved
from a more general group (.general) to a more specific one (.color,
.o-t.debate, etc).

are concered. If you do let people know you moved it, then at least
if I still want to follow a thread, I know where to look.

Ya, that's true, but the downside is that it's a lot more obtrusive to
everyone else, and if people start wrangling about it, then it
pollutes the thread something fierce with metadiscussion.

I don't think it's that obtrusive - and it's not that common we move
thread around, is it?  A different point would be that goverment should
be transparant - if we're moving threads, it should be visible.

Like this one is now getting.

Is it?  This thread is sits firmly in .admin.general, so it's prefectly
on topic.  And with a quick edit to the subject, I'm not sure how it's
polluting?

ForceFUT is a lot better than the older approach but still not
perfect. I'm glad its there though!

Absolutely!  Now, we just need to figure out how to use it best :)
