The most appropriate place for this question is lugnet.admin.general, to which
I've set followups, but to answer your quesiton:
Appropriate posts to lugnet.general are posts for which there is no more logical
group that applies. In rare cases, a post may concern multiple themes or
otherwise be of such broad application, that including lugnet.general might be
warranted.
Due to the amount of traffic the color debate was taking, and the fact that many
people just plain aren't interested in the debate, we created lugnet.color to be
a home for such discussion.
Lugnet is a large community, and to maintain some degree of sanity, it is
compartmentalized into many groups. This compartmentalization generally
facilitates discussion by concentrating similar discussion while allowing people
who aren't interested to totally ignore many discussions. We proudly wear the
title of "compartmentalized dork".
It's also a pretty good clue that you're talking about something in the wrong
place when you think it's the most important thing in the world, but no one else
wants to talk about it. If pereceived importantance was the sole guideline for
what was appropriate to talk about in lugnet.general, we would probably be
talking about the upcomming US elections and drowning out discussion of LEGO
brand toys...
If there is further discussion of where to discuss issues, and why people are
ranting about them or ranting about the ranting, or whatever, again, please take
it to lugnet.admin.general. The Lugnet administration has taken note of the
issues here and does not wish to silence anyone. We only wish to facilitate
everyone's use of Lugnet.

| Thank you, Marc! You said it much better (and much calmer) than me. Perhaps that's why certain individuals didn't like my posts. Perhaps there was too much feeling in them. I can't help it. I've loved this hobby more than any other since I first (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.color)
