yah, proper "vacation" programs should know not to respond to "bulk"
mail. Unfortunately, some of the more common implementations are not so
smart.

that is because that mail server (I think it's exchange?) does not
reply to mail correctly, and breaks the threading on LUGNET. Since we
can't fix the mail server, or write a workaround to still thread around
it's bugs, messages from it are rejected. Post via nntp or the web if
you're unlucky enough to use that server.
