Well, okay, not the source code, but what about selling a distribution of
the system?
I think LUGNET is one of the best discussion boards anywhere on the
internet. It has a few minor quirks, and things that I would personally
like to see changed, but even in spite of these, it far outshines anything
else out there.
My suggestion: polish it off, and make it a shippable product for other
companies, and interest groups to use. I could easily imagine paying $1000
per installation for something like this, and maybe more, depending on how
easy it was to set up.
What would it take to get the source into a shippable form? How many
customers do you think there might be for something of the quality we see here?
Also, this would perhaps improve LUGNET for US fastest, as then there would
have to be someone improving the product for version 2.0 next year!
