  Re: CSV delimiters

(...) I hate it too. IIRC, Excel uses "" instead of \" for an escaped " -- but I could be wrong. I just remember hating it once when I looked at it. :) One nice thing, though, is that Excel can import tab-delimited text, so that's it's saving grace. (...)   RE: CSV delimiters

(...) Sorry, I can't help. And I hate the way Excel outputs in plain text. But since it's 2:30 in the morning, I'll make useless comments. Sounds like you're working on the question I asked...augh, and I just entered all the sets manually. Oh well, (...)   CSV delimiters

Is there any "official" or "reasonably standardized format" for CSV (_C_omma _S_eparated _V_alue) data? I guess it's pretty obvious, mostly, but how are the delimiter characters typically encoded (specifically: comma, double-quote, and newline)? In (...)   Re: compiled / searchable parts database with links to the set guide?

(...) the biggest thing everyone should agree on is the nameing convention... We used partsref and partid for ours, which seemed to be the most complete and easy to use convention... All the rest is really easy to transform, from one format to (...) (24 years ago, 22-Sep-00, to lugnet.db.inv, lugnet.admin.database)

Re: compiled / searchable parts database with links to the set guide?

(...) we will have three distinct implementations of the same functionality. I think we *really* should throw our efforts together to create *one* implementation (which could coincidentally be hosted on lugnet). But then again, just about everyone (...)   compiled / searchable parts database with links to the set guide?

Hi, Did anyone compile the inventories that were posted here in a machine-readable format, possibly even integrating it with the data from set inventories at lugnet? I'd really like to continue the work of Tim Vattima. Wouldn't it be wonderful if (...) (24 years ago, 22-Sep-00, to lugnet.db.inv, lugnet.admin.database)

Re: 9731 Vision Command release date?

(...) Hmm, yes, that's right. Fixed. Originally, it was announced (with set number) back in 1999, and I think that's when it was added to the DB, and I guess LEGO decided to delay it, or else we misunderstood the intended release date. --Todd (24 years ago, 20-Sep-00, to lugnet.admin.database)

  9731 Vision Command release date?

Hi, The guide shows the release date for 9731 Vision Command as 1999. Isn't that a 2000 set? Regards, Hakan (24 years ago, 20-Sep-00, to lugnet.admin.database)

Re: LEGO Set Lists (was: Re: Announcing new set database)

(...) Yep!! Extremely useful..:-) At least an "input set list page" where we can input our sets by simply clicking on check boxes or such. Something like summary pages of set searches. (...) Todd/Suze, this is awesome! If you can promise me you won't have a server crash I'll delete my Excel collection database :] The parts count is really slick, too, something I was doing in Excel.   Re: LEGO Set Lists (was: Re: Announcing new set database)

(...) Cool. Nice & quick interface. It didn't take me more than an hour or so of free time to enter my sets (from fuzzy memory). Now you give me a piece count, and I find out I've got more LEGO than I thought! Always a good thing. :) (24 years ago, 19-Sep-00, to lugnet.admin.database)
