  Re: Uselessness of .debate

I *said* they had flaws and were thought starters... so you'll see a smiley behind every one of my responses, I'm trying to be funny in them. I suggest you post some ideas of your own, I'm trying to get some brainstorming going... (...) Why not? (...) (24 years ago, 18-Dec-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.admin.general)

I'll take some culpability here, I'm a sucker for trying to show up the clueless, and no matter how many times I swear it off, it's just too tempting... he's just so cluelessly annoying when he wants to be.   Re: Uselessness of .debate

(...) I think there is some overflow from .debate into other groups. I can't absolutely put my finger on it (in part because I realize that in part the Larry vs. Scott shouting match may have started outside of .debate, but I certainly see linkage (...) Could I suggest some amendments to the "To do someday" list (for an 'advanced search' only)? - Search by author - Search by subject line contents - Search by date range (or open-ended-- i.e. after date X or before date X) - Search for articles (...)   Re: Castle Lego for sale!!!

(...) It's been a while so I'll repeat my mantra.... <soapbox> Auctions are certainly not allowed outside of lugnet.market.auction (and at least one lugnet.org group), but the rules have not yet changed (unless Todd stealth changed them) to disallow (...)   Re: Lego for sale

(...) Hmm - placing it is a tricky issue. I don't think it needs separate auction/shopping/buy-sell-trade divisions, but if you put it as a sub-division of the existing auction/shopping/buy-sell-trade groups then that's what it would be - split.   Use of lugnet.lego.direct and lugnet.dear-lego

I'd like to make a suggestion on the use of lugnet.lego.direct and lugnet.dear-lego. Of late there has been much "debate" about whether TLC is doing "the right thing" or not, or somewhere in between. While some very legitimate concerns are getting (...) (24 years ago, 4-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Newsgroup structure: some tough decisions
