Re: 8 new subgroups of lugnet.people (Kids, Teens, Adults, Singles, Couples, Parents, Support, LGBT)

While we're at it, I'd like to suggest a .people.bruce group: -> lugnet.people.bruce (group) All about LEGO® people who happen to be named Bruce: Myself, Bruce Lowell, Bruce Schlickbernd, and, in the spirit of the Monty Python sketch, anyone who (...) And .test might fit under that hierarchy as well... (...) Ha, you weaken your argument by your (...) (20 years ago, 29-Sep-04, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, FTX)

Re: Which group does this belong in?

(...) Given the general sentiment regarding reviews of Clone sets and the generation of CLONE.DAT files, I'd suggest using off-topic.clone for setting up trades of this sort. I'm a fan, though; you'll have to let us know what you're looking to (...) (25 years ago, 1-Feb-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Apologies (was Re: Timeout

(...) Larry, if you're so busy dealing with Lugnet issues (URL) I would suggest the quickest resolution would be to just apologise "to anyone that may be offended" in the original thread. ROSCO (20 years ago, 24-Jan-05, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: LUGNet Chat

(...) The game aspect is entirely optional, and is not needed or relevant for a Lego chat. I would suggest that a talker would be sufficent (no creatures or objects) as this would also be lighter on system resources. I guess private IRC is more (...)   Re: how to cancel a message (was Re: [MindStorms FAQ 4.3 How do I make a temperature sensor?]

That doesn't sound secure enough. I would suggest that when a user "registers" to use the web interface, their browser should be send a random unique "user ID", and the user ID should also be sent to the email address they registered with.   Re: Two ways you can help LUGNET ...

(...) If LUGNET code is made open source, I'd be interested in working on implementing changes. Also, I would suggest using a bug tracking system like Bugzilla, rather than just posts in the lugnet suggestions group, to track issues. --Bill. (20 years ago, 12-Apr-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

Perhaps a listing fee plus a monthly fee, so that a multi-month ad ends up (...) (22 years ago, 24-Apr-02, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, lugnet.admin.finance)
