New LOM sets info (Was: New Life on Mars Multi-pack)

(...) Found this Value Pack (Item number 78777, called "Alien Discovery") at Zany Brainy in Manchester, CT. Question: Where does one acquire 7302 and 7303? Are they the same sets I found in a Quaker Oatmeal Giveaway? I ahven't gotten them yet...I (...) (24 years ago, 3-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) I'll have to check out the box again at home. Poke around your local markets and see if there's any Quaker boxes with Life on Mars logos prominently printed on them. In the meantime, you can start by getting your kids to gobble any flavor (...) (24 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Another new Martian set

(...) I found one of these in a Zany Brainy last month, too. Someone needs to get a scan to Todd. I'm obviously too lazy to do it, or he'd have had it by now. I also haven't really been too inspired to go to the trouble, since no one reposded to my (...) (24 years ago, 19-Jan-01, to lugnet.year.2001)

Re: you guys noticed this auction? - Wow!

(...) Yep... (...) Last year when I was complete, I still needed a few boxes....6806, 6807, and a few little non-US sets like 1694 and 1954. Then I sold a bunch of stuff to patch up some financial ruin, but now I'm back on track and trying to get (...) (24 years ago, 10-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  SeriousCollector.com going offline

Hello, I'm sure those who are most interested were contacted directly by the site (such as I was), but in case anyone got left out of the know, one of the secondary auction sites we knew and loved is currently circling the drain.com.   Good for the soul...

Here's a link I found on boingboing.net to a site featuring "really cool watercolor paintings of simple Lego structures." I found the paintings to be good for my soul. (...) I actually did this last year, and sold the pieces, orig. manuals, and a color printout for the 1593 as a lot on ebay. Got maybe $100 for it (eh). Anyway, there are precisely four pieces left over, most notably the two 4x5x3 inverted slopes. (...) (24 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.space)

Old good, new bad. The rest is blah-blahs. I agree with all of it, of course. Aside: They'll never bring back the old expensive box styles.
