8K might be all that IC allows for user global data. The memory map can be rearranged, but only at the compile-time of the IC application. Hi, Fred: You were right, Fred- changing computers solved the problem. I switched from using my Pentium machine to my old 386-33, and it worked fine. Some kind of timing issue? One possibility: make sure you have loaded pcode_hb.s19 onto the board, and *not* pcoder22.s19. when you say "even if I don't move the HB at all after runing for a few seconds the HB usually crashes" do you mean, it crashes with the "-POWER GLITCH-" (...) the hb has a diode to protect against reverse polarity at the coax jack on board. maybe you just blew your config register. the ic manual for the hb has instructions on using the downloaders to reburn the config. fred (28 years ago, 28-Aug-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
