New Pneumatic Component Set from LEGO Education

Hope that I'm not bringing up old news here, but I noticed that LEGO Education is offering a new set of pneumatic components for pre-order. I was a little surprised to see this, since I thought that pneumatics had been all but retired in favor of (...) (16 years ago, 28-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: LEGO 9V Train Communication II

(...) HiTechnic / LEGO now offer an "Infrared Link" for the NXT that seems to be exactly the sort of thing you're describing here - and it is advertised as being compatible with the Power Functions and train IR protocol. This would mean that no (...) (17 years ago, 19-Dec-07, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Brickshelf empty?

(...) LUGNET and Brickshelf have both lost a lot of momentum. I think it's partly due to the fact that these websites, once on the cusp of the AFOL online presence, have not invested the resources and energy to stay with the times. The sites that (...)   Re: sub station?

(...) Substations usually have some transformers of various shapes with lots of cooling fins and insulators... although I haven't built a whole substation before, I did design a LEGO Factory model of a transformer transporter car, based on a real (...)   Re: Where have the axels gone?

(...) Actually, it's a coded message regarding the future of 9V trains... No, just kidding. Here's what really happened: For the trainwheel part on the LEGO PAB website, there is a "diameter" symbol (looks like a circle with a diagonal line across (...)   Re: 7994 City Harbor Question

(...) I bought a copy of 7994, mainly for the boat hull and crane parts. I can confirm that the 1x2 plate w/ rail pieces are just plain ol' black. In fact, I don't think there are any really exotic colors in 7994... just your usual hues of the (...) (17 years ago, 16-Jun-07, to lugnet.inv)

  Re: Any 9v train update?

(...) Bruce, I noticed that on the S@H website, nearly everything involving curved tracks is presently out of stock, implying to me that more curved tracks are presently being made as well. Tracks are at this link: (URL) I'm not sure how many tracks (...) (18 years ago, 29-Nov-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: LDD Model of GG-1 Electric Locomotive - Advice Requested

(...) Chris, Thank you very much for your comments and insight. Agreed, pivoting from the two inner trucks would reduce the overhang. There are two constraints affecting this design decision: I would like to have the three-wheel trucks on the (...) (17 years ago, 11-Apr-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: 7996 Metalized

(...) I covered my 7996 with copper foil tape that I found at Hobby Lobby in their stained glass section. They offer several different widths, all about $5 a roll (which is about 30m of the tape - plenty to do 7996. I was concerned about tinning the (...) (...) It does not make sense in strictly monetary terms for TLG to continue to produce a line that is not directly profitable. However, we have raised the point before that numerous intangible benefits arise from the 9V Train line. Community (...) (17 years ago, 1-Oct-07, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.trains) !

Comparing the picture of the Chinese set, it's clear that they've even ripped off the LEGO box art. Compare (...) (17 years ago, 7-Feb-08, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)
