  Re: Hail to the Chief!

(...) Paul and others, I'm still working on the revisions to the various passenger cars. However, I have now redone the locomotive as a true F9. You can see a picture on Brickshelf at (URL) The LEGO Factory link (after moderation) will be (URL) (...) (18 years ago, 2-Feb-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: The Chief is Back-- Kind of...

(...) James, As always, some great looking models with superb attention to detail (and amazing use of SNOT). All the more remarkable considering that you designed these using just the LEGO Factory parts assortment! These models fit the bill for (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jan-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Hail to the Chief!

Seems that James Mathis and I were thinking along similar lines this past week. I, too, designed some streamliner cars of my own using the LEGO Factory parts palette, although I modeled mine on the "Metroliner" paint scheme rather than for the Super (...)   Re: Hail to the Chief!

(...) Thanks to all for your compliments and suggestions! Let me see if I can respond to each of the points mentioned: 1) Interiors: Mine are fairly austere as well. With Factory MOCs being as expensive as they are to order, I usually leave out some (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jan-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Strange rails

(...) There's a pretty comprehensive article on the red test moldings at (URL) the article notes, test moldings are often done in red because it is the most difficult color to mold. Hence, Jason's theory makes a lot of sense. It is surprising that (...) (18 years ago, 23-Jan-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: BayLUG Save 9v Trains Store Display

(...) Russell, Great job with the window display! That's a nifty way of drawing attention to the plight of 9V trains. And, some very intriguing and unique MOCs as well! Jordan (18 years ago, 21-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.us.baylug, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

Re: What color are new 9V train tracks?

(...) It seems that LEGO exhausted their inventory of old dark grey tracks and had a new run made up in dark bley. Some 9V tracks were out of stock over the holiday and, when they came back in stock, seemed to be from a new production run. The (...) (18 years ago, 16-Jan-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: 10133 sold out / 9V Trains speculation

(...) Jonathan, Glad that you were able to grab some 10133s while LEGO had them. This is pure speculation, but I would guess that we're going to see the present generation of 9V sets scaled back as LEGO brings in the new Hobby Train factory set to (...) (18 years ago, 9-Jan-07, to lugnet.trains)

Hi Jordan, After an attic sort out we've been rebuilding all our lego to sell on ebay or similar (my daughter discovered her grown up brother's collection and has pursuaded him to sell to buy Playmobil).   Re: Classic Space Rocket Train

(...) Wolf, I'm greatly impressed with your rocket train. With the backgrounds you've added, the images look like they might as well be out of an early 80s LEGO catalog. The style of building closely matches that of the classic Space era. I'd love (...) (18 years ago, 4-Jan-07, to lugnet.space, lugnet.trains, FTX)

Right now, the items are out of stock, as were many (...) (18 years ago, 27-Dec-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Super Chief Engine Available from S@H? // Wear + Friction on new wheel sets

It must have been some excess inventory they stumbled across, because everything looks like part of the original production run - old wheelsets, and 2002 dates on the boxes. So, (...)
