  Re: general session starting.

(...) Accusing someone of lying is serious. TLC and the people of Lego Direct do not have a history of lying. Everything I have seen in the last 2 years shows that Brad and Jake to be honest and straightforward. When they can't answer a question, (...) (...) Hi, He's great! Your decision to build his face "studs forward" was an excellent idea. On the dorsal fin - try just a vertical line of 2x1 bricks until you get close to the top. Nature does have some straight lines after all. Mark (20 years ago, 29-Jun-04, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

  Re: Knights’ Kingdom™ is ugly.

I watch the local stores here in Singapore very closely. They each have a bunch of Yodas, Rebel Blockade Runners, Darth Maul heads, Red Baron Triplanes, Santa Fe Super Chiefs and Legend Black Falcon's Fortress. All of these sets have been sitting on (...) (...) What you have to look at is the age ranges. Harry Potter, which is similar to older castle in complexity and use of parts, is 8+,7+,8+. Knights Kingdom is 5+,6+,7+. Its one step up from Jack Stone. If you want to compare the old castle stuff (...) (20 years ago, 8-Jul-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Fed UP!!!!!!!!

Lego is not "just" a toy. But it is a toy. Lego is sold and marketed as a toy to children and adults who are buying toys for their children. It competes with other toys for shelf space in the toy department, and is sold in the price range typical (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.general) !!

  Re: A fan no more

(...) I blame TLC for this man's sadness. 2003 just raised everyone's expectations too high. Along with some truly inspired set designs, I think 2003 saw a genuine change in direction closer to the "true" Lego values as I see them, and I haven't (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

Where has all the Duplo gone?

As a big AFOL and also a parent, I always make a point to scope out the Duplo section when shopping. But what I have noticed is that (at least in Singapore), the amount of shelf space allocated to Duplo is now miniscule. Just one tub and train set (...)   A first step

Yesterday was a wonderful first for our family. My 20 month-old daughter attached 2 2*4 bricks together for the first time! Its great to see the delighted look on her face when I open the box of basic bricks with its bags of pretty colours, the (...) (20 years ago, 26-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)
