Re: e-commerce (was Technic shuttle etc)

(...) I want some 6765 Gold City Junctions (aka Silver City) for $25 each. Unfortunately, I have to order about 100 of them from thetoyshop.com to get that price. Ugh. I've got enough backlog of stuff to part out already, and then there's the impact (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Any ideas on how to do this with Technic?

(...) Not entirely true. Your thinking of the "what falls faster, a tonne of lead or a tonne of feathers" question (or - "what's heavier, a tonne of lead or a tonne of feathers") which is actually more complicated than it seems. The thing with a (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.adventurers)

Re: e-commerce (was Technic shuttle etc)

Let me reiterate... 40 GBP is a good price for a big set like the shuttle. And if you order 20 at at time, the shipping is less than a 15% or so bump in the price. (I had an order for that number ready to go, then chickened out, don't want to hold (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.market.shopping)

A counterweight doesn't change the speed at which something falls, does it? It may reduce the apparent weight of the main structure, but objects of different weights fall equally fast. -- Paul Davidson, aka Tinman www.theforce.net | Your Daily Dose (...)   Re: Automatic Transmission

(...) I haven't built a transmission this way, but I have built a number of sliding worm gear mechanisms. I've found that you have to leave enough room between the drive gears so that the worm gear is only in contact with one at a time. (This is (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Sharp GP2D12 (analog version) troubles

Terry, I posted this awhile back. Somebody asked the other day about a problem interfacing the Sharp GP2D12. I didn't see an answer, and I just did it myself and solved the problem, so here is how to do it. For those who don't know, Sharp just came (...)   Re: IR scanner

Why don't you just get a Pentium III at 900MHz to run a sensor?! If it is not fast enough, then you could still have one brick that could beat the snot out of most of the computers that are running them!!! (+ extra RAM, not firmware - real programs (...)
