An example of the oldest non-building LEGO set in MISB has been located. It is the 1955 dated 1300 "Mosaik Set", sold only in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Another set that had 2 variations came out in 1989... the 6661 MOBILE TV STUDIO SET. This set came with a "TV" pattern on two 1x4x3 blue panels, and two1x1 yellow tiles with the number "2" on them. LEGO stickers were introduced in circa 1972. Prior to that LEGO sets would have printed bricks... mostly in the 1x6 and 1x8 sizes. One of my favorite LEGO sets of all time was the 1956-65 Esso Service Station. This set was produced in Denmark, Norway and Sweden from 1956-58 using the 1310 set number, before switching to the 310 set number in 1958. It started production in other (...) No LEGO in the Walmart flyer this week. There isn't a TRU flyer. Zellers stores that are still open are in liquidation. So Gary... Whilst at Valu Village, I picked up a red LEGO case. Turns out that it's set 356 Then I looked on LUGNET and there's no such set. What gives?? It started in 1957... when Axel Thomsen, a friend of Godtfred Kirk Christiansen who owned a doll house making factory in Lerum Sweden started making wooden box sets for LEGO sales in Sweden and Germany, the 2 countries that he was the LEGO Director (...)
