(...) reads the primitives correctly. What I meant about bad lines was that I noticed your tool does some checking for spurious lines; that must just be for lines between coplanar surfaces. (...) Very interesting! (URL) I am not so much comvinced by the improvement for flat shading. Looks like we trade triangular artefacts in one direction with artefacts in the other one. (...) Not sure what you mean - it doesn't check if a line has its ends properly ending on a surface vertex. (...) I see. So what you really want to do in LDView is ignore the Type 5 lines (at least for smoothing) and smooth wherever there's no Type 2 edge lines between the triangles (and quads). (...)
