  The TCLTC Changes Its Name

Since I have relocated away from the Twin Cities of Mpls/St.Paul, MN, I've decided to change the name of the club. Eventually, I plan on moving to Tucson, AZ, so "TCLTC" will stand for "TuCson LEGO Train Club, but in the mean time, I'm going to call (...)   Re: 8 Wide Steam Trains

(...) It's a myth, perpetrated by the 8 wide-haters! (URL) But seriously, no, not even close, but 8 wides look about twice as nice as 6 wides.... (URL) JOHN (15 years ago, 16-Dec-09, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: 8 Wide Steam Trains

(...) YO, ADRIAN! ===...=== (sorry, couldn't resist-- I'm living in the metro Philly area now!) (URL) Thanks for the plug! Funny thing is that Larry was asking about steam 8 wides, and I never really got into building those-- that was Ross' (...) (15 years ago, 16-Dec-09, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: 8 Wide Steam Trains

(...) Hello, Larry! Ahhh, one of my favorite topics: 8 wide! (URL) First, there is nothing really special about building 8 wide; it really is simply a difference of width by 2 studs. The reason one would consider building 8 wide instead of 6 wide is (...) (15 years ago, 16-Dec-09, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Converting an Emerald Knight to run on 9 volt track

There's no room for elitism here! <snip> (...) The EN is a push train-- it doesn't come with (...) (15 years ago, 16-Dec-09, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Converting an Emerald Night to run on 9 volt track

(...) Basically, a 9V train motor doesn't fit this engine very well, in terms of both the motor's size and look. I've thought about using a 9V motor, too, and personally I'd use it as one of the trucks on a passenger car, as close to the engine as (...) (15 years ago, 16-Dec-09, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Converting an Emerald Night to run on 9 volt track

(...) Well, I haven't opened mine yet, so this isn't for sure, but a 9V motor really doesn't fit with the wheel configuration on the engine without severe changes. It could be put on the tender, although that has 8 wheels, so you'd have to change (...) (15 years ago, 16-Dec-09, to lugnet.trains)
