Re: Chain Precession Drive - Courtesy of TechnicBRICKs

(...) I agree: the input side is connected to the orbiter; the output shaft connects only to the cog. That is exactly the way mine is built. Where I disagree with the LDRAW file is the nature of the liftarm: what is shown is a 1x5 liftarm with only (...) (16 years ago, 23-Mar-09, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Zero Hour on Highway 44

(...) 'Enjoy' is too mild a word, guys. I have not yet managed to pick my jaw up off the floor. Un-bleeping-believable! There are so many gems in this monster that just mentioning any particular set of features seems like faint praise, but I really (...) (16 years ago, 23-Mar-09, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Chain Precession Drive - Courtesy of TechnicBRICKs

(...) Only the input side of the orbiter is connected to a shaft (via 1x4 liftarm) the output shaft turns freely (via 1x5 liftarm) inside the orbiter and connects to the Cog Only. It should be as shown here: (URL) dont have Ldraw installed on this (...) (16 years ago, 23-Mar-09, to lugnet.technic)

Re: new mocs: doorway studies 5-8

(...) As always, your designs are wonderful, Deborah! I particularly like the baronial doorway. Very clever use of elements, like the rock halves as planters and the just-barely fanned out elements in the transom. What parts are you using to get the (...)   Re: Chain Precession Drive - Courtesy of TechnicBRICKs

Owen and Mike, The 2825 part connects the input shift with the orbiter. The part that was shown in the original LDRAW model clearly does not work because all its holes are round and so there is no way of transferring torque to the orbiter body. The (...)   Re: new mocs: doorway studies 5-8

(...) Some very tasty ideas to borrow here. Very nice! I am trying to get away from using Lego doors and build them myself in a similar manner that you have. Best, Jonathan (16 years ago, 23-Mar-09, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

Re: Chain Precession Drive - Courtesy of TechnicBRICKs

(...) Apologies for not having part numbers to hand.. You did mean the 1x5 not the 1x4 liftarm? if so Owen is right the cog must turn freely hence the excessive 1x5 liftarm. I would be interested to see if you have a working redesign... If you meant (...) (16 years ago, 23-Mar-09, to lugnet.technic)

  Science World

It's been a while since anyone from the VLC posted on here so I'll post that the VLC is displaying its Winter Wonderland layout and the YVR Airport Station at the Science World Wings Wheels and Waves exhibit in Vancouver (URL) until May 4th 2009.   Re: Ogre - a LEGO NXT based "tank"

(...) Thank you! The controls started out unintentional - I really wanted to use the NXt motors with encoders for other functions, so started out with just the XL PF motors. But as it is, it works great. It actually allows a third dual-control mode (...) (16 years ago, 23-Mar-09, to lugnet.robotics)
