Re: Final Official Statement - Maersk Second Run

(snip) Thanks for posting this, Jake. I'm hoping to be able to purchase one of these this time around, as funds were a bit too tight for the first run. Also, I, too, would be interested in knowing the fate of the dark blue container ship. -Joel (21 years ago, 26-Jan-05, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

  2005 Legoland CA event info

Here is a list for the 2005 events at Legoland California, the Legoland website does not seem to reflect this info as of yet - this info was taken from the passholder newsletter: Feb 17 - 21 - Lego world tower building event March 11-13 - Miniland (...)   Re: Final Official Statement - Maersk Second Run

Thumbs up! It is great to see Lego and Maersk would not let a 30+ year association(1) end for such a silly thing as running out of the special color material! Now Jake - think *Maersk train* and get to suggesting ;)~ M (1) (URL) came out in 1974, 31 (...) (21 years ago, 26-Jan-05, to lugnet.lego)

  Re: Fortified Town

(...) Something very similar (in the sence that it's also a game and a guy named Gary Thomas took the effort of building a LEGO version) is called "Cathedral". Brickshelf galery: (URL) original Lugnet post: (URL) in turn inspired Jason Spears to (...) (21 years ago, 26-Jan-05, to lugnet.castle)

(...) <snipped statement> Good job Jake et al. It's nice to know that LEGO is listening. The fact that TLG is human enough to apologize is amazing. -Bryan (21 years ago, 26-Jan-05, to lugnet.lego)

Re: any update on plans for Cincinnati in July?

(...) It's DEFINITELY happening. And it's going to ROCK! Are you on the ILTCO NMRA mailing list? All attending clubs should have a coordinator on that list, that's where a lot of this info has been propagated. Paul Janssen may well post some status (...)   any update on plans for Cincinnati in July?

I've got club members trying to plan vacations, and we're curious as to dates, hotels, etc... Any confirmed plans, yet? Thanks, we're looking forward to seeing a LOT of you there! JohnG, GMLTC (21 years ago, 26-Jan-05, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Space Shuttle for Lego Factory

(...) That's amazing! I didn't think you'd be able to fit all that into such a tiny space, but you did a great job. Spotlighted. (21 years ago, 26-Jan-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: BNSF new paint

(...) Oh ya, no doubt. I think one of the reasons for this whacky two piston, one cylinder, central combustion chamber arrangement is that in an exhaust port system, with the proper amount of lag between cylinders, you can arrange the exhaust to (...) (21 years ago, 26-Jan-05, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Is 1:40 minifig scale? (was Project YAMATO)

(...) Heh, I've done some checking... (URL) the answer is "whatever you think is right". Minifigs are just built very un-humanly. Very thick front-to-back, very wide, or very short. Or all three. In general, people usually derive scale by minifig (...) (21 years ago, 26-Jan-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.military)

Re: Final Official Statement - Maersk Second Run

(...) :) Somebody learned a painful lesson, sounds like. Hope the welts have healed by now. But it's clear that the notion of LEGO not listening to its customers isn't true. Like John, I also want to thank TLG for handling this in a respectful way. (...) (21 years ago, 26-Jan-05, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Re: BNSF new paint

Re: LEGO train wire inductors and DCC

(...) Are these inductors or chokes? In other RF interference suppression applications I had understood that there was no connection, just that the wire was routed through.   LEGO train wire inductors and DCC

Anyone know the value of the inductors molded into the LEGO track connector wires? Considering the recommendations against (parallel wired) capacitors on the inputs to DCC decoders, then (seried wired) inductors would create a similar problem (...) (21 years ago, 26-Jan-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
