While on holiday I found the "Model Town House (4954)" at a reasonable price
with the view of building another train station from this set.

Lots of new content (News, Mocs, Racing, Movies, Bikes) at the Bodville website
(on new host server, so please update your bookmarks):

All the best

Hi Peter,

I'm impressed - not only about your idea on the 4954 which the set is virtually
asking for. Also very excellent website and lots of interesting ideas I hope you
won't mind to see re-utilized elsewhere ;)

Thanks,

Jerry

Thanks for the kind words Jerry. I was almost tempted to drop the site after
switching ISPs. It had only 4500 hits in 1.5 years where as I have YouTube
videos over 35000. But I got my first fan email and I decided to keep it going
and add some new content.

My favourite model is the gantry crane, because it works (with one RCX mindstorm
brick). We take Bodville once a year out of my garage to help raise funds for a
school for students with disabilities. I watch the other non-lego exhibits
tinker all weekend getting things to work. We just download the RCX code and
press run. It gives me plenty of time to talk with people (or race the slot
cars).

My best idea was to put AFX motors into Lego cars and bikes. Everyone goes nuts
for them. There are some movies on the Bodville site including the 2006 race
track. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/pe668/Movies/afx_12meg.wmv
Or low quality YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mVb--2ji1o

Feel free to re-utilized, all the best.

Peter

Nice model, does it use any parts (other than the minifigs and train bits)
that are not in the 4954 set?

I don't know about everyone else but I store my spare bits in bins sorted by
colour (But I have a friend who sorts his by brick type).

So when ever I buy a new set, many of the models get tweaked because of the new
pieces.

This train station uses most of the 4954 set, but the platform was from an
incomplete "Intercoastal Seaport" set (6541). I also added lots of grey pieces
from my spares collection.

A sharp eye will also spot two lion heads which are from the castle series.
King Leo's Castle (6098). I keep telling people I only collect Lego trains.
Oh and mindstorm......and technics.......castle......starwars.....creator.
Who am I kidding?

Right there with ya--whatever LEGO comes my way I'm a happy camper!

Nicely done on the station, btw!  It's neat how it *looks* simple yet has lots
of nifty details.

When I seen the pix, I thought you built it with Medium Blue and Sand Blue, only
to realize those colors are Light and Dark Bluish Gray, respectively.

I have the 4954 set, and built the model on the box front. IMO, it's the best
house set since the 730 Basic Building Set (my all-time fave set).

Peter - Very nicely done.  I really like the archetecture and design.  Had the
4954 set come out before the Corner Cafe (or had caught my attention before the
cafe), I probably would have attempted to make a station from this set
instead... and now especially after seeing your MOC.  Great job -Ted
