Hello all. I am another AFOL that has just come out of a long hibernation for
trains... after reading all the info last year on needing to Save 9V Trains, I
thought I better get on board before it was too late...
When I went to S@H to get the new Hobby Train set (BTW - kudos to all that
contributed) I was ‘wowed’ by the Corner Café and its architectural elements and
colors. Since I am restarting my collection from scratch, I thought I could
make a really nice Train Station out of the set.

This design took some time to figure out, but it’s pretty strait-forward using
the architectural elements of the Corner Café. I’m considering a few
modifications, like modifying the “WEST” station sign to be horizontal on the
front entrance canopy. Also not sure on platform height I want. Right now it is
at level with the holiday train passenger car doors. I may want to lower it a
brick heigth to have a step-up instead...I didn’t have too many pieces left
over, maybe 10-15% (mostly small pieces and long brick in brown color).
Any thoughts? Anyone else make a train station out of the set yet?

| (...) Great stuff Ted! I also purchased the café, which in my opnion does indeed contains the right pieces for a classic-looking station. I was actually thinking of buying a 2nd set to make a 'Grand Station', you did beat me on the idea of a station (...) (18 years ago, 16-Apr-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
