I was comparing it to Ben's puny Big Boy <wink, wink, Ben> Very interesting.

Hi John,

just a short hint: that other Big Boy is not a MOC of mine, but was displayed
in Hattersheim by a fellow, whose name I simply missed. I am really sorry
about that fact, but all of the people around seem to know nothing about that
guy as well. He came to our show and was most time standing around his nice
model (with lots of flat cars full of highly detailed military stuff). We all
talked to him, but later it came out, we all haven't deared to ask for his
name.... Everybody had the feeling he was the only one not to know that guy.
Very strange - but true.

You should take a close look at Ben's pilot (lead truck) and compare it to
yours.  I think he has captured the spacing better-- the front edge of the • back
wheel should be about even with the end of the boilder (although his is a
little *too* much in front of the boiler).  If you wish, I could send you a
scan of a schematic of it to show what I mean.

That 'small' Big Boy was quite faszinating: it was not running on the ovals
as far as I know, but the owner told us it was fully able to pass curves and
in nearly all cases even points. And it was clearly not meant for Minifigs. I
think the military trucks and tanks have been undersized for minifigs as well.
So engine and waggons where fitting perfectly to each other (but not to the
track gauge of course).

Leg Godt!

Ben

P.s.: this is what I am talking about (as given in a parallel thread):
