The unfortunate downside is that this design, while being almost exactly what I wanted to do for the Pizza Planet truck, is impossible to build without the cap over the bed. The most significant issue is that the B pillars on the back of the cab are only attached to the cap, so they’d fall right out. The other issue is that in order to get the odd scoop just in front of the rear bumper, I had to suspend a fair number of parts upside-down, and I’m not sure how well that construction would work without the cap involved.

I do plan to design a more conventional pickup at some point, especially as I have this lingering desire to make a junker pickup, and that I plan to design so it does not need the cap, though I’ll probably design a new cap to go with it.
