Yes, I see some Castle potential in this line.

Where can you see pictures of the mini-Bionicles?

Visit http://nt1.pncl.co.uk/huw/search.asp?Set=bionicle and look at the little
guys on the bottom.  Totally nonfunctional, but perhaps some parts value (if
you like large strange weapons)  If you want scary pointed objects to poke
prisoners with, these are the source!   I really like the mask that comes with
"8541", but not enough to want the set.  "8545" looks horrible, I hope that its
larger counterpart Onua does not look like this. (Please, TLC, CHROME ONUA!)

I'm having a good, long look at these creatures.  Here are some things i'm
noticing.

Pohatu
Pohatu has brown Throwbot parts, as well as tan.  The main function of • this set
is almost certainly a gear-controlled kicking motion.  Look at the gear • under
the hip, and the lack of gears in the upper body.  Seems to come with a • Rock
Raider rock.  Doesn't have a weapon SPUD like the others.  Perhaps this • will
inspire some TECHNIC Soccer MOCs?  I would rate this as one of the better
designs for function and construction, but I tend to like more colourful
Slizers.

Onua
Definately the coolest looking.  I can't tell if it is chrome, but it • could be.
Green glow inside the head may or may not be an actual feature of the toy. • I
have no idea what this thing does.  Still, I'll buy it for the claws and • other
parts (great for dinosaur mechs!)  Might be my favourite.

Gali
Gali appears to be old blue and black, one of the less interesting colour
schemes.  Gears visible in the shoulder indicate that Gali will swing his • arms
when the back gear is turned.  The hook arms would be good for tow trucks • or
large mechanized pirates.  I don't think I'll be getting this.

Tahu
Tahu is a fire Bionicle, and appears to be red and black.  I'm not sure • what
the action function is, but I do see a gear on the back.  The right arm is • a
very hideous flame SPUD, what are we supposed to do with that? I don't • want it.

Lewa
Lewa seems to have the same lime colour of the Swamp Roborider.  I don't • know
what this one does either, but I do sense a shoulder gear.  The axe arm • looks
generally useless, but may find its way into some MOCs.  Way un-LEGOish • though.

Kopaka
That's definately a new limb element, compare it to a standard Throwbot • leg and
see for yourself.  Function is not clear, as no gears are visible (the • 'gear'
between the legs is probably molded into the torso like on Throwbots) • White
satellite dish appears to be the same one in the Snowspeeder set, • indicating
that Kopaka is fairly tall (low camera helps too, though).  Broad • swordlike
element looks okay.

Mini-Bionicles
What's up with these?  THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING!!!  Mini-Lewa has a cool • mask,
but still!  Since they aren't in the North American catalog, they will • probably
be exclusive to Europe and/or LS@H.  I don't get it.  All Technics should • at
least do something.

Hasn't been made yet.

Bionicle Packaging?
Throwbots had belt cases, Roboriders had cans.  What brilliant kind of
container will Bionicles come in?

Combination Alternate Models?
This seems to be a rule of slizer-type creatures.  I'm hoping for animal • mechs,
like wolves and alligators and stuff.  Notice that there are no wheels in • the
entire theme?  Since there are six, like the Roboriders, there will • probably be
three large models each made of two small models.

Competitive Play?
The previous collections of slizers came with disks or wheels, allowing • for
ditance and accuracy shooting competitions.  Bionicle (Pohatu being a • notable
exception) appear to swing their arms.  How should we play with them? • They can
knock over small obstacles, any other ideas?  I hope the instruction books
include some suggestions.

If you have ever had any other thoughts about BIONICLE, post it here.  I • want
to talk about these things!
