I've taken pictures of almost every part in my collection.  This does not
include my big container with instructions and baseplates, the small amount
of new unsorted LEGO I have, my Bricklink store, my Tantive IV and Black
Seas Barracuda and the parts taken up by several MOCs (Alphabet ships, some
small stuff, Starbug 1, my moonbase module - although you can see the module
in one of the pics).

The first image is of my build area.  I just made the switch to the yellow
Akro-mils drawer units.  Before the parts in these were primarily stored in
3730 Plano tackle boxes:

Next is all the tubs out.  I never have all my tubs spread out like this now
but this is a good way to show you the collection:

Overview of the drawer units.  I might get 3 more of these in a while ($7.80
each at Wal-Mart):

The next 21 images are all of 3 gallon rubbermaid tubs.  These are similar
in size to the 'blue tub'.

Bricks 2x4.  I keep my "drab" and "new" colored basic bricks (grays, tan,
brown, orange, teal etc) in another tub:

Bricks 1x4:

Bricks 2x2:

Smaller bricks:

Beams, 1x6 and up:

Gray, tan and brown etc.. (this tub is always pretty low because I use gray
in almost all my MOCs:

Slopes.  (similar to the basic bricks):

"Drab" slopes:

Wings and angled plates:

2x6 Plates.  This tub also normally holds 2 smaller stacked tubs inside it
with 2x4,2x8 and 2x10 plates:

"Thruster" elements:

Canopes and windscreens:

BURPS, foliage and castle walls that can be used for "space building":

http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jpalmer/Collection/dsc02177.jpg

Technic stuff.  This will be sorted to a greater degree in the future but
for now I never really have much trouble finding anything.  But I'm also not
a gearhead:

More Technic stuff:

"Architectural" elements.  Pillars, arches, walls and some decorative stuff:

Big space parts:

Really big space parts (and some large brick plates):

The obligatory "tub of wheels":

Castle themed parts:

The next 8 images are of smaller (I think 1 gallon, not sure) rubber-maid
tubs.

Bricks, 2x6 and up:

Hinge plates, 1x2 hinge bricks and 2x2 turntables:

The following 3 images are of some of my old 3730 tackle boxes, now being
used for large plates.

2 very small Plano tackle boxes with some tiny tools etc. in them:

The remaining images are of all of the Akro-Mils drawers.  No descriptions
on these.  Just check out the pics. (also note that while the contents of
these drawers are sorted, the drawers themselves are not organized.  I'm
still working on their placement in the units):

Hope this is useful for somebody.  I know I love seeing how others sort.
