After my role was concluded as Magistrar in the Grand Admiral's
court-martial, I sought out a means to supplement the meagre pension
I received for my service. This involved weaving an intricate web
of financial agreements, heavily influenced by temporal anomolies, and
of questionable ethics taken directly from the book of the former
Grand Admiral himself. No really, he wrote the book while serving
his Fleebnork sentence: "Grifting and Other Stuff All Grand Admirals
Should Know". The illustrations are particularly fascinating...,
what's that? Oh yes, where was I...
Anyhoo, these dealings ultimately lead to Dr. Grubergruber agreeing
to assign to me 100% of the rights to the Antispamcake technology.
This agreement required that I in turn assign 90% of my net earnings
from such to the then 1st Lt. Fleebnork Division Mark Sandlin.
Dr. Grubergruber being under a direct retainer from the 1st Lt. would
thus be assured financial security, stemming from his own Antispamcake
research.
However, my being launched into deep space was not anticipated, temporal
anomolies notwithstanding. Luckily, my pod crashed into the hull of
one TCS Dumbstruck (the irony of the ship's name is just too rich).
Captain Timmy was in desperate need of a Fleebnorker as his previous
charge recently quit after being reinstated as Grand Admiral. Thus
I got the job. This fate was not particularly what I had in mind, but
there is a happy outcome.
As a Fleebnorker I am now a card-carrying member of the Intergalactic
Fleebnorkers Union, or IFU for short. Union membership requires that
all Fleebnorkers pay 90% of their combined gross earnings from all sources
directly to the IFU as union dues. This includes, oh, say, rights to
Antispamcake technology, for example. Thus the Grand Admiral now
recieves only 9%[1] of the revenues generated by Antispamcake technology,
and from this he must provide for Dr. Grubergruber's salary. Thus
I anticipate a drastic loss of income for the good doctor, who will
no doubt pursue legal action against the Grand Admiral. Hhmmmm,
somebody's Spiffcraft could be repo'ed...
As for us lowly and under-appreciated Fleebnorkers, do not fear!
Thanx to my contribution of union dues to the IFU, we have calculated
that we can afford to pay ourselves more in strike pay than we earn
by actually working on Fleebnork duty! Therefore, effective
immediately, the IFU is going on strike, indefinitely. And we're
all going to spend it vacationing on the paradise planet of
Oo-La-Laa-7.
Oh baby.

| (...) Snip- A STRIKE! Oh CRUD! Fine, We have ways of dealing with the ever increasing Fleebnork problem. I hate to say it, but those union dues are rather steep. Who runs that union exactly? Does one need to be a full fledged Fleebnorker to get in, (...) (24 years ago, 23-Apr-01, to lugnet.space)
