Welcome to the followup to Mark Sandlins 2004
Civilian Contest. This time we have a
theme, (Moonbase detailing) an expansion of the scope, and an additional host,
me. The rules are as follows:
- You cannot submit a previously published MOC. We want to see new creations.
- No weapons allowed on the vehicle. These are craft and items used by regular folks.
- The vehicle you create must be a civilian type vessel such as a personal craft or a delivery vehicle. Police vehicles are ok but they must not be combat oriented. That means no guns! The idea is to build creations that would likely be found in a Moonbase layout, so no deep-space explorers, racers, etc. either.
- The size requirements are strict, yes. We want small vehicles that can fit comfortably within a layout, although there are no width limits. Antennae do not count towards the length limit.
- Military vehicles that dont have guns will not be accepted. We want civilian MOCs. Say it with me: Ci-vil-ian.
- You must email a link to your entries to adrian at brick frenzy dot com. I will post links to the entries on the contest page as I receive them. I will not host your images, so dont ask. Please include Civilian Contest Entry in the subject line, or my spam-blocker may delete it.
- There are six categories:
- Small vehicles (1-8 studs long)
- Medium vehicles (9-16 studs long)
- Large vehicles (17-24 studs long)
- Bots (helpers, delivery bots, service bots, etc)
- Terrain/landscaping (hills/mountains, plants, etc)
- Detailing (billboards, trash cans, funky space fountains, etc)
- Prizes are as follows: Each category winner will receive a Fleebnork trophy designed by the Grand Admiral. An overall Best In Show will additionally receive a Tribunal Probe Kit from me.
- Judging will be performed by myself and the Grand Admiral, as well as non-AFOL judging by our wives. So build to impress AFOLs and non-AFOLs alike (just like a Moonbase should).
- The contest ends April 30th.
Adrian, your friendly neighborhood contest co-coordinator

| Adrian, this is a great contest idea! I've got a MOC that's been waiting for something like this. I almost took it apart because I thought, "Nobody wants to see Civilian MOCs!" I'll get some pics up tonight hopefully, along with an emailed link. (19 years ago, 20-Feb-06, to lugnet.space, FTX)
