The pictures are a bit on the dark side, though. That makes some of the details hard to pick out, and makes the colors hard to identify. Are you using a new location for shooting?

Thanks for the comment Tony! I think weird is the second name of this MOC :o) I wanted to make the air intake above the pilot, but even coming with several designs, none of them was good looking enough. In the end I think the result is ok like this.

It’s a big topic you’re raising, saying that MOCs can suffer from trying to be as close as possible to the original artwork or design. Modeling is about this, no? I remember Lenny saying the same about his Marvin bot: be inspired, but don’t stick to the original model. I guess that’s what make us spacers, as opposed to train people for instance.

No offense here, I am not trying to advocate one or the other, I think the 2 “philosophies” are as good as they get, and that’s what make this community so rich. I guess modeling can be done 2 ways: o - etheir you want your MOC to be as realistic and true as its original; o - or you want your MOC to carry a concept, an idea. This is perhaps more about one’s perception - and I think this is what space is about.

I moved 2 weeks ago, so I tryed for the first time a new photo set-up. I thought light would be enough, but found out it is not. For the moment I have the appartment, next time I’ll have the light!

Cheers,

JP.
