USS Okazaki NCC-1960 WIP —Jeffrey Benson
Hi guys & gals! I want to say first, "long time reader, first time poster." In brief, the Star Wars line reawkened my Lego craze from its dormant stage, although I haven't been active in building (I did build an E-Wing and an 8-middle-section Pirate (...) This with the exception of senior officers, each of whom have private facilities. (...) Smaller than (...) (21 years ago, 7-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

In lugnet.space, Jeffrey Benson writes: (snip) (...) I assume that you are going to make the bridge circular...that was one of the many things that kept me from building the Star Trek sets.          Re: USS Okazaki NCC-1960 WIP —Jeffrey Benson
(...) Yes, indeed! I've never seen a decent representation of the TNG bridge, although I saw a FANTASTIC rendition of the TOS bridge! Phew, that thing was BOOTIFUL! (Pardon my slang, I'm from Ba'wmor). However, the only things I have to deal with is (...) (21 years ago, 7-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) BaronSat's version of the TOS bridge? Yep, that's a beaut. (...) I saw a gorgeous train round house done using hinged 1x2 bricks, so you might be able to use those. (...) lol!      (...) hm, I seem to have misplaced the file...I need to find it. It's been over a year since I last saw it. I'll send it over when I find it, tho. What's the format you prefer?      (...) Um. Format? LOL. I'm sort of a computer luddite here, please bear with me :) (...) I've got that somewhere too. The only problem I had in laying out the ship was with the engine room ...      Right now, my biggest problem is finding a folding table ... so far I can't find anything wider than 30", but I really WANT (ideally) 36" by 72". Jeff Benson jbenso1@towson.edu (21 years ago, 9-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: USS Okazaki NCC-1960 WIP —Alexander Johnston
(...) I hear ya. Decent tables are impossible to obtain. I ended up resorting to getting two cheap steal sables and putting them together side by side.          Re: USS Okazaki NCC-1960 WIP —Jeffrey Benson

I was planning on buying two tables: a round one, and then a regular rectangular one, and using the round for the saucer, and the rectangular for the warp nacelles and secondary hull.       (...) Welcome to the insane world of large scale starships. I am also in the early stages of my project. The ship I am building is going to be roughly 7 feet long by 2 1/2 feet wide.      There might be something intersting for you here: (URL) have never undertook a Really Large Ship, but I can give basic design principles: 1. Don't get boxy. Boxiness can really kill a huge ship. 2. Make an internal support structure. Use technic (...) (21 years ago, 29-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)
