(its not my auction)
Judging by the price tag they are presumably Canadian or French.

Judging from the seller's location being shown as "Quebec," I'd assume
they're Canadian. ;^)

I'd say Canadian, since the price tags have "$" on them along with the French.

Good point :-)

These were manufactured in Denmark and sold via Samsonite in Canada from
1978 through the early 1980's. The four sets listed above are from the
range 0012 to 0015. There is also a Town minifig pack (police officer,
generic female minifig, generic construction worker) numbered 0011 and a
Castle minifig pack (three classic castle warriors with swords) numbered
0016. IIRC, the period catalogs listed the set numbers incorrectly without
the leading 00's.

Interesting -- thanks.

Actually, the Space three-pack is set 0011. 0015 is either a Town or Castle
one...they're all listed on the back of each card. Todd, I've been meaning to
send you scans of these guys.

Whaa?--seriously? That's bizarre! The back side of my copy of 0013 shows
the Space three-pack (red/yellow/white) as 0015, and it shows the Town three-
pack as 0011.
What's the copyright date shown on yours? Mine says (c)1978.

Todd,
I'm so stupid!
I checked out the back of the card last night. You are right, of course...When
are you not? :-)
Mine all say 1978, too, but this makes no sense, given the yellow Spacemen
figures (just won this one last night! Finally got 'em all! YES!!!). Perhaps
it is the Legoland logo iteself which is copyrighted 1978. As for the
manufacturing of these cards, it couldn't possibly have been before 1982...but
then, there's no way to know exactly when.
Were you to list these in Pause, it'd be a hard thing indeed to classify the
year. In my own collection site I just stick 'em in 1982, since they couldn't
have been any earlier. But then, I've never been as exacting as you, as my
previous posting will attest!

Ahhh -- good point! The yellow space minifigs must've travelled through time
or been part of some space-time continuum disruption. :)

Oh, sure they could've been manufactured before 1982. It wouldn't suprise me
at all if LEGO had had yellow minifigs in the plan back in 1978. But the
copyright date is different from the manufacturing date. The copyright date
tells what year the artwork was produced. But these probably weren't released
until 1982'ish and probably weren't printed until (guessing) 1981'ish...
I wish there were a way to learn more! Here's a good example of where the
copyright date needs to be a separate field from the release date. :)
BTW, people have pointed out examples of late 1990's sticker sheets which were
copyrighted ~3 years earlier than the release of the set itself -- LEGO plans
way ahead!

Hi Alan,
Heck, no, I'm not complete, but I'm really getting there. :-) I was referring
to my having found all these Space-themed Samsonite mini-fig cards from ebay's
"squidboy" in Quebec (he's already listed one more of each, too...Mr. Chiles is
after 'em).
Here's my Space Wish List (there's only one set on it [take a guess which], but
also lists a couple accessories and non-US versions I'm still looking for, plus
the five boxes I need to be packaging-Space-complete), if you're ever feeling
bored:
http//www.umop.com/legowish.htm
It doesn't have the recently-re-discovered #1977 backing card on it yet...it's
painful to add something I know I'll never get...

Oh...I thought that since a while ago, when you bid over 100 dollars on a 23
piece set, someone said that that set was one of three you needed to be space
complete, so I thought you were space complete.

Don't remind me....I thought that 6807 was going to be the death of me...
I wonder what I'd have paid for a boxed version?
